Mission Statement

The JDS Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the lives of young adult cancer patients by creating opportunities for adventure and meaningful experiences. We provide financial support for memorable experiences, trips, and activities that allow patients and their loved ones to step away from the challenges of cancer and focus on making lasting, happy memories together.

We also support patients participating in select clinical trials by helping to ease the financial burden associated with traveling for treatment. We also provide access to clinical trial information and resources and foster mentorship and connections for patients navigating their cancer journey.

The JDS Foundation is committed to increasing awareness, knowledge, and research surrounding Primary Mediastinal Germ Cell Cancer (PMGCT) and other Germ Cell Cancers. Through education, advocacy, and support of research initiatives, we strive to advance understanding of these rare cancers and improve the resources and experiences available to patients and their families.

Jonathan Snitzer

Jon was a husband, a brother, a dog dad, a son, a cousin, a nephew, a grandson, a medical student, an engineer, a buffalo bills fan, an adventure seeker, and a man destined to do incredible things with his life. Jon even came up with the idea of this foundation before cancer took his life. He was constantly making the most of anything life handed him. Jon is our inspiration, our best friend, our role model. Jon is the reason we are all so determined to make a difference in the lives of others undergoing cancer diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and loss.

As many people have said to us, losing Jon was a worldwide loss. The world will truly not be the same without him and all he was bound to accomplish in his life.

We love you Jon.
